finances..

I am at Macdonalds, accompanying dear dear as he study. i came prepared with fen's laptop so i can do what i want. and there are many things that i want to do.. work stuff, financial stuff, blogging about reading stuff, etc etc. so many. hehe... in the end i decided to start on my financial stuff. time to get some serious financial planning going. have already listed out before my monthly outflow previously. now i'll need to add in some of my debts, which are huge!! hope to clear them soon!! :) checking out a few websites on DIY personal finance planning. i must remember my goal - FINANCIAL INDEPENDENCE!!

before that, i had a wonderful time taking care of my niece today!! she's so cute! hope she gets well soon!! :D

ok, the website i checked out asked me to list out things that i would like to own. so, here it goes:

1) a laptop!
2) huge amount of savings!
3) further furnished house
4) a car, but not so soon. i don't really need one now. probably in 1-2 years time?
5) a prospering career
6) networks and contacts
7) driving license (that should have come before 4).. hehe..
8) happy family. healthy mum, dad, sisters and nieces & nephews.
9) happy r/s with dear.. and getting married in...4 years time --> wedding ceremony, flat buying, honeymoon
10) kids.. in... 5-6 years time (oh no.. family commitment coming up..) --> expenses to bring up kids, medical bills, education, etc
11) financial independence, hopefully by age of 40. at that time, i'll work if i like to. otherwise, i'll prefer to do free-lance work, consulting, etc.
12) want to be writing! :) for leisure and for work!
13) TRAVEL!! how can i forget that!!! there are so many places that i want to visit. i said before i will visit Whistler again and when i visit again, i can spend without worries! Besides whistler, i want to go to other parts of canada, other parts of USA, japan, korea, australia, europe and atlantic!! wanna take that amazing cruise!! wow.. all these sounds real expensive!!
14) a CAFE! i love the spell of going into a cosy place with coffee aroma.. especially early in the morning. sitting down with a cuppa of cuppucino is... heaven! i want to open a cafe!! probably in my early 30s?? maybe i should toy with that idea earlier.. hmm..
15) repay loan of $25000

didn't realise fully that alot of things that i want needs a huge amt of $ to carry out. and that last item.. the outstanding loan i have is real scary. i think the one thing that i would really love to do asap is to return the money. and this means i got to make more money. how can i do that?

well..several options:
1) turn my existing job into partial commission based - something which was proposed last year. but of course, got to first put the co back on track.
2) if g really carry out his plan to buy over the co, i would request to have shares in the company. probably i will request for this at the end of the year. or maybe now. but i have no money to invest in now and i cannot afford to take a paycut. hmm...
3) take up a part time job, preferably a freelance job. not tuition. i am thinking of something related to writing.
4) do business. IFCT is set up. maybe i should put in some efforts to sell this online. i was toying with the idea of making into stickers and selling it to overseas whereby they are more keen to do DIY wedding favors, DIY wedding decorations. there's no DIY culture in Sg. got to go overseas... and slowly expand what i can sell...

all the above are realistic options. time to do something.. option 1 will be put in place, more towards middle of the year. option 4 can be done at OTOT compared to option 3 and rewards could be higher. i'll work on option 4 first. do some simple studying on the people who like to DIY. they send me their photos, i'll print and send it to them. den i'll share with my partner.

also need to cut down on my spending. am i spending too excessively? well, let's keep track of finances and i'll know..

here's the website i am reading on financial planning. i think given my financial status now, i'll be more comfortable doing the planning myself. jiayou!!! http://www.bygpub.com/finance/finance7.htm
