Team, Team Work, Team Player: What's the Definition?

It's the tired feeling again. Had discussion with jason in the morning. after that, had coffee and lunch with him and g. it is interesting to listen to him complain about his boss. about the importance of management and about the commonality of politics in office. office politics is, simply put, a way of life in working life.

this morning, on my way to work, i recalled my conversation with wl yesterday. i asked him if he think he has the ability to lead someone else or a team. his reply is actually very similar to the reply that i would give. the reply is,'i won't say lead. it is more of working together as a team.' before this KYB ordeal, my reply will be as such too. but right now, i think this reply is ideal thinking. it is not realistic simply because there are people who simply do not understand what is meant by working as a team. there are people who do not know how to be a team player. Even worse, there are people who don't even know what to do when they are in a team! A leader is definitely needed. The leader's task will be very much facilitated if his/her team members are team players and knows how to work effectively in teams. But very often, such a scenario is not available. Like what i am going through right now.

I had been praised several times for being a team player. But how do i qualify that i am a team player? I will spend some time looking into this.

Right now, i need to go for another meeting. I am trying to maintain a calm state of mind.
