Yesterday I found out about something which surprised me and eventually, that surprise turned to disgust after I experience more of similar stuff today. Someone told me that he heard his Boss (my vendor) calling G a-not-to-be-mentioned-ugly-name and he was so astonished when he heard that. I was thinking to myself,'huh? even the boss of the company? oh my god! how can he do that? he's the boss and if he used nicknames on people in front of his staff, he's actually showing his approval!! he's encouraging them to use nicknames on one another!! OMG! how can he do that?'
that company has alot of nicknames for one another. and it has alot of talking behind people's back, gossiping and nonsense rumors! they are fighting within one another inside as well. are all companies like that? this is only a small company of less than 30 people!
i believe i have nickname there too, so does rz. and they are talking alot of crap nonsense behind our back. some are entirely unfounded. i know they are really finding us an eyesore and disliked us. it is hard to describe but generally, they are not professional and i am not having a good working relationships with them. the boss disgusts me the most. he quote sky high prices to us and when i call to negotiate, his tone is like taking pity on me. i don't wish to continue working with them after i wrapped up 2 projects on hand. of course, G also have not been kind to them, maybe that's why they are talking alot of crap behind our back. But G seems to think that he has some power over there and is actually proud of his fierce attitude towards them at times. but sometimes, he's quite tactful.
sigh, well, it takes 2 hands to clap. so it's both parties' fault. should i highlight to G? i'll think about it but regardless whether i highlight to him or not, i think the verdict is set. it is not very possible for us to develop any good working relationship with them. so i will need to source for other vendors to support. i had been wondering all evening what should i do? cos i find them so disgusting and i just wished they will go bankrupt!! but i've limited purchasing power to make them go bankrupt. probably they will create their own downfall with their lousy services.
maybe i should channel this disgust and anger with them into constructive energy and develop 3ds into a much profitable and stronger co than theirs. but i face many limitations as well. if i really want to cut off any future working r/s, there will be certain areas which i cannot provide service to.
(1) first and foremost will be vc. other vc sources in sg are tiertiary and many levels of approvals will be needed on their side and their leadtime is not very ideal. i will not be able to do much R&D using those sources. alternatively, of cos will be the nus option, which is to draft up a proposal to use their vc in terms of hrs. i only need to have access to vc facilities for tougher proj which requires R&D. other straightforward ones can be easily sub out to m'sia. i do not need to have alot of manpower for the vc. the project engineer can do it with maybe another assistant. cos it is mostly to try out new/tougher stuff like this transparent piece and the upcoming probe. i will propose this with G. but nus is quite far off and there are certain hrs which we can access. that's some prob on its own as well.
(2) tooling. this is mr soon's forte and his team of toolmakers is either 3dss or 3dp. if it is a standard mold, i can sub it out to other mold makers. but this will create unhappiness within my office. furthermore, if we're using the short run concept, it'll be 3dp. in the future, mr soon is gg to innovate a new tooling concept. we're v keen to pursue that but to pursue that means we got to be involved with 3dp. so i suppose for tooling, there's not much of a choice. but a consolation will be the toolrm people r still quite ok.
(3) for machining, we are already self sufficient. i just need to establish a few more sources.
had been feeling v sian going to work. besides the incident which disgusted me, i am also feeling sian because there's a lot of things to do. and the toughest is alot are not the things that will add on a lot to my learning. still haven't had the chance to go back to marketing, networking, etc. and i cannot fully plunge into marketing because the engineering side cannot support. and all these makes me wonder if i should carry on here. sigh...
whatever it is, i got a long lists of tasks which i need to complete. hope this wk i can complete most of them. i'll carry on thinking if it is worth to carry on and when/where should be the checkpoint.
ok, time for bed. goodnight...
